Maybe the owners/workers got tired of nutjob libertarian types bitching about pricing structures.
I bet they still get questions, too.

That’s actually a good idea, shuts up people that want to complain about the gas station gouging them. I’ve run into those types before, they assume the franchisee is the chairman, CEO, and majority owner of Exxon Mobil and goes off to his beach house in Hawaii when he’s not busy refilling the nacho cheese dispenser on the counter.

In Wi stations are only allowed to make 9 cents per gallon, but have to make at least 3. That is to keep the price changing to a minimum, and stop stores from trying to under cut the competition.
This is a good idea to show the people who think gas stations make 30% on gas like we do on candy bars and beer.
Also an interesting tie bit, Michigan raised their road tax by 10 cents/gallon so my sister store in Hurley Wi saw a 15% increase because they are in a border town, so the stations 3 miles away in Mi are 10 cents higher,.

Tennessee has no state income tax, so they’ve got get it from travelers (fuel taxes, occupancy taxes). Florida is the same way.

Where are you going that is no more than what, 16 miles away? You’ll burn that first .259 of a gallon just firing that M3 to life.

I had just started refueling. I actually got pretty decent fuel economy today, despite a little detour to the tail of the dragon.

I’ve been getting good milage lately as well with a two hour round trip to a data center in San Jose this week in 100 degree heat with zero fun driving at all aside from the on ramp. 16.5 mpg. I got about 18 while driving across the country back in 2015 when gas was essentially free outside of California. I average 12.6.
I’d imagine you get 15-16 or so?
My Corvette gets nearly 20 which baffles me with the big V8 from when Bill Clinton was President.

Since it’s become basically my weekend only car, I get around 15-16, like you imagined. After some spirited driving yesterday, I got 18. That’s what this tank is probably going to look like, spent a couple hours hammering down back roads today.
